Senior Content Editor – Online Retailer - £27,000pa

One of the UK’s fastest growing online retailers is now seeking Senior Content Editors to join their enthusiastic content team in South West London as they undergo a period of expansion.

The Company
The company is one of the UK’s leading ecommerce companies and operates a large number of unique specialty websites. Based in a great office, they are now seeking a number of Senior Content Editors to join their young team of fun-but-focused individuals. The company has enjoyed a period of great commercial success over the past 18 months and has also secured significant investment from a leading venture capital organisation.

The Role
You will manage the creation of new and existing e-commerce website content including product listings, the building of new websites, and the maintenance of content for existing websites. Working with the Content Manager and the Ecommerce Managers, success will be determined by your ability to manage a small team of content editors while maintaining consistently high editorial standards across a range of content from product listings and web pages to image banners and product data, and meeting targets set for content production. Responsibilities 
Reporting to the Content Manager, you will be managing day-to-day jobs and long-term projects across a number of websites, as well as acting as line manager for a small team of content editors. You will combine this with ensuring the quality of all content (copy, images and data) is exemplary and compelling whilst also implementing the principles of search engine optimisation within the content. You will have an input into the general look, feel and flow of the sites. You will also ensure that your team meets targets and that your team members develop the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their roles.

Skills and Qualifications

• A high standard of copywriting in a commercial environment
• The ability to use Excel spreadsheets and to organise and analyse large amounts of data
• Knowledge of HTML and web authoring tools like Dreamweaver to create web pages
• The ability to manipulate images using Photoshop or Fireworks (desirable)
• Experience of managing a small team of people in a similar environment
• Proven success in a target- or deadline-driven content production environment
• The ability to ensure the quality of all content is consistent and finished to a high standard

Salary
£24,000 - £27,000pa, dependent on skills and experience
